PITTENGER: OBAMACARE HELPS A FEW IN NEW YORK, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF US?
WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09) had this reaction to President Obama’s remarks on Obamacare:
“Despite President Obama’s glowing report about the benefit for a select group of New Yorkers, the fact remains that Obamacare is a bad deal for the hardworking people of North Carolina.
According to filings by Blue Cross and Blue Shield, health insurance premiums for some North Carolina small businesses will increase by 284% under Obamacare. One-third of BCBSNC customers who purchase individual policies should be prepared for ‘unusually large’ rate increases.
Yesterday, Forbes reported the economy is suffering as employers slash full-time jobs to prepare for Obamacare. In June alone, America lost 240,000 full-time jobs.
Congratulations to President Obama’s friends in New York City, who for years have endured some of the highest health insurance costs in the Nation, due primarily to Obamacare-style regulation and government red tape. A few of you will now see a decrease.
For the rest of us, does President Obama really care about the damage his unworkable mandates are causing hardworking Americans?
