Pittenger on Fox News: Palestinians should denounce Hamas

CONGRESSMAN PITTENGER ON FOX NEWS: UN SHOULD COMPEL PALESTINIANS TO DENOUNCE HAMAS, NOT FORCE ISRAEL INTO INDEFENSIBLE POSITION
CHARLOTTE – During a live interview Thursday with Greta Van Susteren on Fox News, Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09) reacted to reports the Obama Administration might end long-standing American support for Israel at the United Nations:
“We need a resolution at the UN compelling the Palestinians to denounce Hamas. That’s the real concern America should be addressing at the UN, not seeking to put Israel in a position where it can’t defend its own country.”
Greta Van Susteren also asked Congressman Pittenger, Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare, about President Obama’s relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
“I would invite President Obama to go to Israel, to go to the Golan Heights, to go to the Gaza border, to go talk to the young officers who manage the Iron Dome missile defense system and they see those rockets that come across, thousands of them, by Hamas, funded by Iran. They understand the threat in that region. It’s easy to be distant and dismissive if you don’t really appreciate the threat they’re under.”
Congressman Pittenger visited the Golan Heights and Gaza border, met with officers at the Iron Dome, and met with Prime Minister Netanyahu in Jerusalem last month.
