PRESIDENT OBAMA GIVES BREAK TO BIG BUSINESS, LEAVES HARDWORKING AMERICANS FACING FINES
WASHINGTON – According to Forbes, the economy is suffering as employers slash full-time jobs to prepare for Obamacare. President Obama conceded as much when he announced a one-year delay in the “employer mandate.”
"Unfortunately, President Obama’s evolution on Obamacare doesn’t offer any hope or change for ordinary Americans,” commented Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09). “He left the individual mandate in place, giving a break to big business at the expense of hardworking Americans.”
Tonight, Congressman Pittenger joined the House of Representatives in passing the Fairness for American Families Act (H.R. 2668), which will delay Obamacare’s “individual mandate” by one year. Without this change, employers would be free to dump employee health coverage, but those same employees would still be fined for not having health insurance.
The legislation must still be approved by the Senate and signed into law by President Obama.
"President Obama repeatedly claimed that Obamacare wouldn’t force anyone to change their health insurance, but he’s now allowing businesses to force their employees onto the government health exchanges,” warned Congressman Pittenger. “Now is the time for President Obama to show true leadership and give hardworking taxpayers the same regulatory relief he gave to big business.”
Congressman Pittenger is in favor of a full repeal of Obamacare, replaced by common-sense reforms that lower the cost of health care without government intrusion.
