Pittenger urges Senate Democrats to stop blocking Zika bill

CONGRESSMAN PITTENGER URGES SENATE DEMOCRATS TO STOP BLOCKING ZIKA FUNDING
WASHINGTON – Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09) had this statement after Senate Democrats voted for a third time to block a crucial $1.1 billion Zika funding package yesterday afternoon:
“Senate Democrats have shamefully decided to continue playing politics with our nation’s health. How can they stress the urgency of the situation to their constituents at home, and then turn around and vote to block funding for a third time?
“The House passed this comprehensive funding package needed for vaccine development and mosquito control more than two months ago, so I would urge my Senate Democrat colleagues to start prioritizing our nation’s health over partisan posturing.”
