Robert Pittenger said Wednesday. “I believe it was a good cause, a noble cause, and we rallied to the cause, and I think we did everything we could do,” Pittenger said in an interview with the R&L hours before a vote on legislation that both appropriates government funding over the next few months and raises the debt ceiling. “But with Democrats in the majority in the Senate and with a Democrat president, it was two against one and it was impossible to win.”
