CHARLOTTE – Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09) is traveling to Latin America this week for a series of meetings with foreign leaders to discuss efforts to combat terrorism financing.
On Monday, he met with multiple high level Colombian officials from the Ministries of Finance and Justice.
“The nexus between radical Hezbollah, Latin American drug lords, and Iran is a growing threat to America’s national security,” said Congressman Pittenger.
“Our efforts are to strengthen collaboration with important allies on protocols to intercept terrorism financing while encouraging compliance and support from those countries not fully cooperating.”
Congressman Pittenger is Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Committee Task Force to Investigate Terrorism Financing, and Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare.
